Why to get a PhD at BME Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics?

Our Doctoral Schools
Out of the 355 teaching and research staff of the Faculty, 220 have PhD degrees and 35 have been awarded the title of the Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. At the Faculty, approx. 880 scientific publications are produced and 4,150 independent citations are generated every year (averaging over the last 10 years).
There are two doctoral schools at the Faculty:
- Doctoral School of Electrical Engineering
The PhD Program in Electrical Engineering is designed to pursue research in the areas of embedded systems, robotics, control, telecommunication systems, microwave technologies, electron devices, nanotechnology, antennas and propagation, power systems and energetics. - Doctoral School of Informatics
The PhD Program in Informatics is designed to pursue research in the areas of infocommunications, algorithms, data security , data bases, and SW technologies.
There are courses which provide the disciplinary background of research including cutting edge mathematics, physics, networking and algorithms. There are at least 20-30 research topics announced each year by the supervisors. Besides completing the courses the PhD students research on their chosen topics and publish their results with the help of their supervisors.
